Broker and Market Maker Forex Trading Information

A broker is an intermediary who has a license to buy and sell securities on a client's behalf. Stockbrokers coordinate contracts between buyers and sellers, usually for a commission. A market maker, on the other hand, is an intermediary that is willing and ready to buy and sell securities for a profitable price.

A broker makes money by bringing together securities' buyers and sellers. Brokers have the authorization and expertise to buy securities on an investor's behalf - not just anyone is allowed to walk into the New York Stock Exchange and purchase stocks; therefore, investors must hire licensed brokers to do this for them. A flat fee or percentage-based commission is given to the broker for carrying out a trade and finding the best price for a security. Because brokers are regulated and licensed, they have an obligation to act in the best interests of their clients. Many brokers can also offer advice on what stocks, mutual funds and other securities to buy. Due to the availability of internet-based automated stock brokering systems, clients often do not have any personal contact with their brokerage firms.

A market maker makes a profit by attempting to sell high and buy low. Market makers establish quotes whereby the bid price is set slightly lower than listed prices and the ask price is set slightly higher in order to earn a small margin. Market makers are useful because they are always ready to buy and sell as long as the investor is willing to pay a specific price. This helps to create liquidity and efficiency in the market. Market makers essentially act as wholesalers by buying and selling securities to satisfy the market; the prices they set reflect market supply and demand. When the demand for a security is low and supply is high, the price of the security will be low. If the demand is high and supply is low, the price of the security will be high. It is often the case that a market maker is also a broker. This can sometimes create the incentive for the broker to recommend securities for which he or she also makes a market. Therefore, investors should make sure that there is a clear separation between a broker and a market maker.

Lowongan Kerja 2008 Lowongan Engineer

Tangguh LNG Project, approved in Q1-2005, is one of the most complex projects in BP's portfolio and is one of the 5 major New Profit Centres in BP's growth strategy. The development involves tapping offshore gas fields, with proven resources of 14.4 tcf, and producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Bintuni Bay area of the province of Papua (formerly called Irian Jaya).
The Tangguh LNG Facilities will comprise two offshore production platforms linked by two sub-sea pipelines to an onshore LNG Facility which is being constructed on a greenfield site on the south shore of Bintuni Bay in Papua. This location provides good sea access, stable soils and ample area for future expansion. The LNG plant will be a complete grassroots development including all ancillary facilities required to be self-supporting. Two liquefaction trains will be constructed initially, with each train having LNG production capacity of 3.8 mtpa. Storage and loading facilities will be provided for export of LNG and gas condensate products by marine tankers. Utility systems providing electricity, steam, water, and other plant needs will be constructed to meet daily plant requirements.

1. Mechanical Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be accountable to set up and coordinate mechanical engineering activities and ensure that the facility is safe, highly reliable and well-maintained. In addition, you will need to review any mechanical acceptance test/installation/ safety aspects and its integration in the mechanical completion, commissioning and start-up.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience;
Have an extensive discipline networks with the communities;
A good command of both oral and written English;
Strong leadership skills.

2. Process Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing advice on process engineering related activities. You will be held accountable to ensure safe installation and operation of offshore gas production platforms, pipelines, onshore LNG production, and storage and loading facilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering;
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 8 years experience in technical/engineeri ng or operation of LNG plants and/or similar processing plant;
Proven mastery skill in the process engineering area;
Have an extensive discipline networks with the communities; Strong knowledge of gas conditioning & processing technology, heat transfer technology, process safety in design, refrigeration and cryogenic
liquefaction technology, water technology, steam generation system and fired heater technology;
Have an extensive discipline networks with the communities;
A good command of both oral and written English;
Strong leadership skills.


3. Senior Process Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing advice on process engineering related activities. You will be held accountable to ensure safe installation and operation of offshore gas production platforms, pipelines, onshore LNG production, and storage and loading facilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering;
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with at least 10 years experience in technical/engineeri ng or operation of LNG plants and/or similar processing plant;
Proven mastery skill in the process engineering area;
Have an extensive discipline networks with the communities; Strong knowledge of gas conditioning & processing technology, heat transfer technology, process safety in design, refrigeration and cryogenic liquefaction technology, water technology, steam generation system and fired heater technology;
A good command of both oral and written English;
Strong leadership skills.


4. Rotating Equipment Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the Rotating Equipment Engineer Technical Authority, your primary responsibility is to provide engineering support for all rotating equipment for all phases from Construction, Commissioning, Start Up and Handover to Operation. This will include, but not limited to, giving assurance that the installation and startup of the rotating machinery are in compliance with the project requirements, develop a long term maintenance strategy for refrigeration compressors and gas turbine drivers as well as delivery of a negotiated Long Term Service Agreement to implement the strategy.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 8 years in all applicable rotating equipments;Proven technical background on all rotating equipment design, installation and operation; experience in rotor dynamic analysis, vibration analysis, alignment techniques, basic material selection as well as field and in-shop balancing;
Have an extensive discipline networks with the communities;
A good command of both oral and written English;
Strong leadership skills.
